Mirjam van den Bosch Receives Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award For International Groomer of the Year

May 27, 2009

AZUSA, CA—Cardinal Laboratories has announced Mirjam van den Bosch of Holland is the winner of the 2008 Cardinal Crystal International Groomer of the Year Award. Mirjam was nominated and chosen by her peers for her ability, knowledge, professional spirit, integrity, and accomplishments in the competitive grooming ring.

Cardinal Laboratories, a manufacturer of dog shampoos and treats, implemented the Cardinal Crystal Awards in 1988 to recognize excellence within the grooming industry and celebrate the achievements of professionals. Cardinal acts as a sponsor and intermediary for the awards, allowing members of the grooming community to nominate and vote for Crystal Awards in six categories: Congeniality, Grooming Contest Judge, Grooming Journalist, The David G. Salzberg Award for Outstanding Contribution, American Groomer of the Year, and International Groomer of the Year.

“Mirjam is an exceptionally talented groomer, who truly cares for her clients and gives a lot to her field,” says Barbara Denzer, Vice President of Cardinal Laboratories. “We’re proud to present her with this award.”

Mirjam practices her art at her own grooming shop, Honden Trimsalon Dog-House. She specializes in Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, Lagott Ramagnolo, Bouvier Des Flandres, and Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers. In addition to grooming, she breeds and shows Standard Poodles in Black and White. She competes, judges or supports grooming competition all over Europe, and has traveled to the US for competitions, including Pet Fashion Week, in New York City, where she placed third in the Poodle Challenge.

“This award means a lot to me, since it’s not just about nice work, but also for trust and appreciation,” Mirjam says. “I want to thank all of the colleagues who voted for me, both in Europe and the U.S.”
