Good Things Come in Small Packages: Exo Terra’s Glass Nano Terrarium Has Big Terrarium Features in an Ultra-Compact Size

October 29, 2010

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Reptile enthusiasts who are looking to save space and youngsters just starting out in the hobby can now have the same quality found in larger set-ups in a terrarium that takes up just a small amount of space. Exo Terra’s new Glass Nano Terrarium is an ultra-compact, full-featured terrarium designed to the same exacting specifications as Exo Terra’s larger Glass Terrariums, offering ideal housing for small reptiles and amphibians.

The new Exo Terra Glass Nano Terrarium packs a lot of features into its size. While it has a footprint of just 8” x 8”, the Glass Nano Terrarium shares all the features of Exo Terra’s larger glass terrariums, right down to the locking, swing-out front door that prevents escapes while allowing easy access for maintenance and feeding. The smaller size is perfect for people who want to keep a reptile but don’t have the space for a larger set-up, or for reptile enthusiasts who want to enjoy their pets at the office. The Glass Nano Terrarium is also a great first-time terrarium for young hobbyists or those just starting out in the hobby, allowing them to learn about the reptile environment without the responsibility of caring for a full-sized terrarium.

Like its larger cousins, the Exo Terra Glass Nano Terrarium has an innovative front window ventilation system, which works in tandem with the stainless steel mesh cover to provide optimal ventilation, and keep the front glass free from moisture condensation. The mesh cover also allows for UVB and infrared penetration and is completely removable for cleaning and decorating. The Glass Nano Terrarium also has a raised bottom plate, allowing for the exterior mounting of a substrate heater, and its waterproof bottom and fixed lower front window make it adaptable to dry or wet substrate.

The coordinating Compact Top Nano Light Canopy is designed to be used with the Glass Nano Terrarium, as it is a perfect complement to the compact terrarium. This easy-to-install light fixture fits a compact fluorescent bulb or low-wattage incandescent bulb that meets the lighting requirements for reptiles and amphibians. The build-in reflector ensures the animals within the terrarium receive the UVB rays they need, and also reflects heat back into the enclosure to help keep the terrarium temperature at optimal levels.

The Exo Terra Glass Nano Terrarium is 8” x 8” x 12”and comes with a natural-looking Rock Background. The Compact Top Nano Light Canopy is 8” x 6” x 3.5” and has a sliding rim to mount accessories. Exo Terra terrarium decorations and accessories are sold separately. The MRSP on the Glass Nano Terrarium is $45.99 and the Compact Top Nano Light Canopy is $24.99.
