Cardinal Pet Care Hires Anthony Monaco as Vice President of Manufacturing

AZUSA, CA – (For Immediate Release) – Over the last several years, Cardinal Pet Care has taken great strides in becoming a world-class manufacturer of pet care products.  The company’s corporate commitment to pets, people and the planet shows in its new, sprawling, state-of-the-art plant, office and warehouse, which is one of the first solar-powered facilities in the pet care industry.  Cardinal’s newest product in its popular and health-conscious Pet Botanics brand is Healthy Omega Dog Food, which joins products such as Omega Treats, Training Rewards and Meatrolls in the continually growing and expanding line.

To go along with the company’s continued growth, Cardinal is expanding its human capital by adding new members to its management team who have an unprecedented level of talent, experience and passion for excellence.  Anthony Monaco, the company’s new Vice President of Manufacturing, is the latest example of Cardinal’s dedication to hiring the best and brightest in their fields, creating a collective bank of experts that will lead to a profitable future for the company and the pet products industry.

A successful sales and marketing executive with a thorough understanding of business practices, manufacturing operations, project management and product development, Monaco has developed and launched over 200 specialty personal care products over the course of his career.  He has many years of experience in managing staffs, departments and divisions of all sizes and is a contributor to private label trade publications, offering commentary on the industry and trends in hair, skin and bath products.

Monaco comes to Cardinal from Randall International in Carlsbad, California, where he was the Vice President of Sales, responsible for expanding the company’s contract manufacturing business.  He also evaluated and revamped the hospitality portion of the business, improving economies of scale, which resulted in higher profit margins.  Prior to his position at Randall, Monaco was the President and CEO of Link:SPC, Inc., a Simi Valley, California-based company he founded that specializes in the development and manufacture of personal care products and cosmetics.  He was responsible for all facets of the business, whose clients included The Gap, OPI, Lola Cosmetics, Jerome Russell and QVC’s Natural Advantage.

“Tony’s experience and qualifications set him apart from others, and his dedication to increasing profitability and market share while developing close, productive relationships with clients and employees alike show that he is a rare find,” said Tony deVos, President of Cardinal Pet Care.  “His strong organizational skills and his understanding of product development will enable him to play a large role in our company as we move forward into the future.  Tony is a wonderful addition to our pet care products team.”

Over the course of his career, Monaco has shown that he is not afraid to take on ever-increasing levels of responsibility, including the day to day operations of his own company.  He began his career as a Territory Sales Manager for West Coast Building Services in Corona, California, where he solicited new business and serviced existing accounts in the building maintenance industry. From there, he moved on to Consumer Products Associates Distributors in Saugus, California, working his way from a Key Account Representative to Western Regional Sales Manager for the company’s Russ Kalvin’s Generic Brand Hair and Skin Care Division.  He also held positions at Chatsworth, California’s Aware Products, the most recent being Vice President of Sales & Marketing, before moving on to Link:SPC, Inc., and then to Randall International.

Monaco graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

A division of Azusa, California-based Cardinal Laboratories, Inc., Cardinal Pet Care’s manufacturing and distribution center is a solar powered facility.  The 63-year-old pet product company is a pioneer in green technology, being the first privately held company in the pet industry – and in its city – to manufacture products using solar energy.  Cardinal products, including new Furrever Devoted dog shampoos and conditioners and Pet Botanics Healthy Omega Gourmet Dog Food, are available at pet retailers nationwide.  For more information, contact Cardinal Pet Care at 800-433-7387 or visit www.cardinalpet.com.
