Exo Terra’s Monsoon RS400 Programmable Rainfall System Simulates Real Tropical Rainforest Precipitation

The Monsson RS400 can create anything from a brief mist to a steady rain in a herp habitat.

MANSFIELD, Mass. In the rainforests of the world, life is lived in constant tropical humidity and frequent rains.  These conditions have become a necessity for the health and well-being of the various creatures that call rainforests home, and this doesn’t change simply because the reptiles and amphibians were born and live in captivity.  Exo Terra’s Monsoon RS400 Programmable Rainfall System from the Rolf C. Hagen (USA) Corp. is designed to mimic the rainfall of a tropical forest, keeping the humidity within the terrarium at optimal levels for the inhabitants.

The Monsoon RS400 can accommodate the needs of any size terrarium and is readily adjusted to appropriate settings for the type of animal or plants that are housed within the habitat.  It allows for brief bursts of precipitation, prolonged, drenching showers and anything in between, giving reptiles and amphibians, as well as live tropical plants like Bromeliads, orchids and mosses, the moisture necessary for them to thrive.  The Monsoon RS400 can be especially helpful for breeders of reptiles and amphibians, as frequent rainfall helps to stimulate breeding behavior.

With the ability to be programmed to rain multiple times per 24-hour cycle for time periods ranging from one second to two hours, the Monsoon RS400 frees reptile and amphibian owners from having to manually operate a mister.  Additionally, the Monsoon RS400’s large, 4-liter (1USgallon) reservoir allows continual operation for several days without the need for refilling, which ensures rainfall even during the extended absence of the owners, and enables them to go on vacation knowing their terrariums will get the moisture they need.

Easy to install and use, the Monsoon RS400 comes with two rain-dispersing nozzles that are designed to fit in the closeable wire/tube inlets featured on all Exo Terra terrariums, and the sloping top allows refills to be made easily and without disassembling the unit.  To accommodate very large or multiple terrariums, the Monsoon R400 can be extended to accommodate six nozzles.  The nozzles create an extremely fine, mist-like effect that can be easily adjusted for the type of animals and/or plants that are housed within the terrarium.  The extra long tubing that connects the nozzles to the reservoir makes it possible for the Monsoon RS400 to be concealed in a storage area or under the terrarium in a cabinet.

Exo Terra’s Monsoon RS400 Programmable Rainfall System is 8.5” x 8.5” x 9” and holds 4 liters (1 USgallon) of water.  It has an MSRP of $159.99 and is available online and at pet retailers nationwide.  An optional remote control is sold separately.  For more information visit www.exo-terra.com, or contact the Rolf C. Hagen (USA) Corp. at 1-800-225-2700.
