Pet Supplies “Plus” Corporate Headquarters Welcomes Employees’ Canines on Take Your Dog to Work Day

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.Michigan-based Pet Supplies “Plus” became famous in its industry by pioneering the concept of inviting people to bring their pets shopping with them.  On Friday, June 24, the company won’t just be welcoming pets to its stores, but also to its offices, as Pet Supplies “Plus” invites the employees at its corporate headquarters to participate in this year’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day.

A full day’s worth of fun, food and activities is planned for the employees and their canine guests, beginning with a9:00 AMmeet-and-greet in the headquarters’ courtyard for those dogs who haven’t yet met each other.  After everyone – human and canine – is acquainted, the special day will continue with additional events, including:

  • 9:30 AM– a Doggie Parade through the office, giving employees a chance to show off their special guests.
  • 10 AM-12 noon– a Pet Photography session, where for just a $5 donation, employees can have a professional photograph taken of their dogs, with the proceeds going to the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance.  The photos are courtesy of Images2Art.
  • 12 noon– employees and their dogs will enjoy a hot dog lunch and games and prizes in the courtyard.  All dogs will receive a free goodie bag.
  • 12 noon– during lunch, DogZone will present demonstrations of the exciting new way to play with your dog called Treibball!

Since it began in 1999, Take Your Dog to Work Day has not only celebrated the great companionship dogs give to their owners, but has also encouraged their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs.  Pet lovers and employers celebrate this special bond by opening their workplaces to four-legged friends on this day.

Founded as a single pet store in Redford, Michigan, in June 1988, Pet Supplies Plus is a leading retail chain in the pet industry with over 240 stores in 23 states.  For more information, contact Marie Skladd, Pet Supplies “Plus” Events Marketing Director at 248-662-4504.  mskladd@petspuppliesplus.com, or visit www.petsuppliesplus.com.
