Commitment to Pets, People and the Planet Earns Cardinal Pet Care a “Good Corporate Citizen” Certificate from the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles
AZUSA, Calif. – For the sixth year in a row, Cardinal Pet Care has received a certificate of recognition from the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County for being a “good corporate citizen.” In order for Cardinal to receive this recognition, the company met established limits for wastewater discharge for at least a year, was free from any violation notices, maintained environmental equipment and fulfilled all permit requirements.
In June, Cardinal reported a 14 ton reduction is CO2 emissions, which is a direct result of the company switching its Azusa manufacturing headquarters to a solar-powered facility. Cardinal also saves money by utilizing LED lights in its parking lot fixtures, which have considerably lower energy draws and last longer than conventional bulbs.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles,” said Tony de Vos, president of Cardinal Pet Care. “Cardinal takes our devotion to pets, people and the planet very seriously, and protecting water quality is part of that obligation. We appreciate that the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles recognizes our efforts in preserving the environment.”
Made up of 23 independent districts, the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles serves over 5.7 million people in 78 cities and unincorporated territory within Los Angeles County, California.
