KONG, Host ‘Picture Perfect Pets’ Children’s Art Contest

Competition Encourages Children to Create Original Works of Art Featuring Their Pets or Favorite Animals; Winners Will Receive Prizes for Themselves and School

GOLDEN, Colo. As children begin to experiment with art, many of them make a family pet the subject of their first drawings. In celebration of this tradition, KONG Company has partnered with to launch the nationwide Picture Perfect Pets children’s art contest. Now through October 31, children grades 1-6 can submit original drawings of animals for the chance to win exciting prizes from KONG and for themselves and their school.

Schools across the country are invited to participate with their art classes, or children can participate in the Picture Perfect Pets contest on their own by visiting To enter the contest, children should simply draw, color or paint their favorite household pet, or wild or imaginary animal on one 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper. Entries can be done with pencils, crayons, ink, pastels, charcoal, watercolors or acrylics. All entries must be submitted with an official entry form and be postmarked by October 31, 2012. The winners will be chosen by a panel of qualified experts including professionals in the art and animal care fields. The first place winner will receive $100 cash from KONG, $100 Photos to Art™ gift certificate from and a large gift box of pet toys and treats. In addition, the first place winner’s school will receive a donation of $250 from KONG and a $100 Photos to Art gift certificate from The second place winner will receive $50 cash from KONG and a medium gift box of pet toys and treats. The third place winner will receive $25 cash from KONG and a small gift box of pet toys and treats.
