Disc Jockey Chronicles Adopted Dog’s Journey To Good Health In YouTube Video Series
Disc jockey Brian Redd knows firsthand how switching to a healthy diet and lifestyle can make a difference. After a stroke paralyzed his right side and made it difficult to speak, Redd followed his doctor’s advice and embarked on a new health regimen, which helped him regain almost all of his capabilities.
Now he’s doing the same for his dog and chronicling her progress in a YouTube series that he hopes will inspire others to take better care of themselves and their pets. Cardinal Pet Care is supporting Redd’s efforts by donating Pet Botanics food, treats and training rewards for him to use with his dog “Cookie.”
Redd, who has traveled the world as a popular DJ, adopted Cookie 4 years ago. As Redd puts it, Cookie was very “spirited” dogs until she approached 4 when she began to slow down and gain weight.
Although Redd, who has over 12.5 million views on his DJ YouTube Channel, tries to keep Cookie active, he says that even a short game of ball winds her. Since he saw so many positive changes in his own life once he implemented a health regime, Redd reasoned that a healthy diet and exercise routine could help Cookie too.
After a friend told him about Pet Botanics dry dog food and its many benefits, Redd contacted Cardinal Pet Care about his plans for chronicling Cookie’s road to health on YouTube. The company, which makes a variety of healthy grain-free products, agreed to sponsor the dog’s video journey.
In the first video, now up on YouTube (http://bit.ly/1d7CNUH) Redd mentions that Cookie is a fussy eater but has already started to enjoy Pet Botanics’ Grain-Free Chicken Dog Food and the Salmon Omega Treats. Additionally, a rash that Redd says Cookie has had for about 2 years is gone, and although he can’t say for sure it was the food, he knows that the food certainly hasn’t hurt.
Redd is hoping that by sharing the journey that Cookie will be on it may encourage other dog owners to take an active approach to their dog’s health and well-being. Redd also hopes to get Cookie, who is not too interested in doing tricks, to learn to shake throughout the series.
